CONGREGATIONAL
CHURCH OF WOODBURY
Who we are: we are a thriving, active congregation and would love to have you join us!
In 2016 we celebrated our 200th Anniversary with an exciting year of special events and historical achievements. A capital campaign to fully restore our church steeple and lantern was completed as the final nod to 200 years of history and the hope of another 200 years in gracing the town of Woodbury.

Our congregation and its Sunday School continues to thrive and grow. We have seen a recent surge in enrollment and membership which brings renewed energy to our worship each Sunday and throughout the week. With pleasure we open our church doors to many community groups and are pleased that our beautiful facility can accommodate them.

We are fortunate to have a vibrant music program here at North Church. Our young accomplished pianist “Mark” is also talented on the organ and with choral direction. The choir of between 12 -16 on any given Sunday meets for Wednesday evening and early Sunday morning rehearsals. Challenging music is no problem for this talented group. On occasion our worship service is enhanced with “special” music by vising musicians or choir members with other talents as well. Our Sunday school year comes to a close on the second Sunday in June with a “Summer Sunday Kick- off ” music and picnic extravaganza, a coordinated effort by the pastor, music director and Sunday School director.

North Church is blessed with so many talented and enthusiastic volunteers. Whether its committee work or fundraisers, special project or restoration work, you can be sure there are many hands at work to get the job done. We have seen new and updated office and conference rooms, a new ladie’s bathroom, a handicap access from the sanctuary to the parish hall, new flooring and carpeted hallways, restored parlor project not to mention an outside fully painted church and parsonage enhanced with a new fence and shrubbery.

Our Outreach efforts are paramount to who we are as a church. Not only does the community benefit from the regular building use that we offer (no rent is ever charged but donations are gladly welcomed) but our Women’s Fellowship and Outreach committees work tirelessly in their efforts to support many organizations locally, nationally and around the world. We donate our time, talent and treasure eagerly and are always willing to do more.

The Trustee’s take great pride in their “behind the scenes” duties to ensure that we make the best financial decisions that we can to be a successful organization. And lucky for us we have a talent pool of hard workers not only around the conference table but also able to swing a hammer.

Our Deacons take great pride in making sure all the incidentals are taken care of and in place on Sunday morning (especially during the holidays) from scheduling greeters and ushers, welcoming “call in by phone” visitors, serving communion and visitation to the homebound but most importantly supporting the minister’s needs and being the eyes and ears to the congregation.

We are proud of our church family and would love the opportunity to welcome you here.
